Nightjar

Nightjar makes circadian lighting that shifts colour through the day, but its app exposed hundreds of settings. Most owners never changed a thing after setup, and many switched the automation off because the lights changed at the wrong moment. Nightjar wanted the system to feel like weather in the home rather than a control panel.

I replaced scenes and schedules with a single idea: your home follows your own sun. Owners choose when they wake and when they wind down, and the lights take care of everything in between. A tactile wall dial handles moment-to-moment changes, while the app became a quiet timeline of the day's light, with every transition prototyped in motion and tested in real bedrooms and kitchens.

Owners now keep the automation switched on, and setup takes minutes instead of an evening. The dial and the light timeline became the signature of Nightjar's second product line.
